Replacement copy of an old favorite

The story is a bit dated, probably from the 1980's. Male lead character is a bit manipulative and female character is a bit passive. Some elements of the story are hard to accept, but that's why they call it fiction. Summary: Young woman working in a catering business accidently gets concussion while delivering food to rich guy's private jet and ends up in Mexico without a passport, clothes etc. Rich guy schemes to keep her there to thwart scheming grandmother who wants to see him happily married, but not to a scheming cousin who is determined to have him as her husband. After a number of formula miscommunications and attempted sabotage on the cousin's part, the female chracter gets the gumption to take her fate in her own hands and returns to the U.S.
