In this series of A Love That Changes Everything, we slow down to study one of the most beloved and powerful encounters in the Gospel of John—John 7:53–8:11, the account of the woman caught in adultery.
Before the accusations begin, John gives us a simple but significant detail: Jesus spent the night on the Mount of Olives, a place where He often withdrew to pray and commune with His Father. What can we learn from the rhythm of Jesus' life? How did His time with the Father prepare Him to respond with both truth and grace?
As the religious leaders drag a broken woman before Jesus, hoping to trap Him, we witness the stunning contrast between religion and the Gospel. Religion rushes to condemn. Jesus pauses. Religion looks for someone to blame. Jesus looks for someone to restore.
Together we'll explore the famous words, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone,"and the life-changing invitation Jesus extends to the woman: "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more."
In this episode, we'll discover that:
- Communion with the Father always precedes fruitful ministry.
- Jesus meets us with both grace and truth.
- Conviction leads us to repentance, while condemnation keeps us trapped in shame.
- The Gospel doesn't excuse our sin—it transforms our hearts.
- The same grace that restored this woman is available to us today.
Whether you're carrying regret, struggling with shame, or simply longing to know Jesus more deeply, this episode is an invitation to lay down your stones, receive His mercy, and discover the freedom that is found in Christ alone.
