As the last snowflakes of winter whispered to the ground, the Abominable Snowman—whom his friends called Yeti—gazed gloomily from his icy cave perched high in the Himalayas. Spring was creeping into the mountains, and Yeti could feel it in his bones—and worse, in his fur. His thick winter coat, once a proud, fluffy testament to the cold, had begun to shed in patchy tufts, making him look less like the majestic creature of legend and more like a disheveled pile of snowballs.

Yeti sighed, watching the pristine white blanket that had covered his world begin to melt into slushy puddles. Icicles dripped tears from the edges of his cave, and the once-frozen streams babbled mockingly in the distance. He wasn’t fond of this season. Winter was his time: crisp air, sparkling snow, and a landscape that felt like home. But spring? Spring was uncomfortable, messy, and, frankly, far too warm.

Reluctantly, Yeti began his spring preparations. He shook himself vigorously, sending clumps of fur floating like dandelion seeds on the breeze. He tried to tidy up, gathering his shed fur into piles, but gusts of warm wind scattered them as if teasing him. His favorite snowdrift chair had melted into a soggy lump, and even his collection of perfectly shaped icicles turned into sad, dripping sticks.

Feeling forlorn, Yeti trudged down the mountainside in search of something to cheer him up. As he wandered, he noticed tiny green sprouts poking through the mushy snow, their stubborn resilience catching his attention. Curious, he knelt down, his large, furry hands cupping a small purple flower daring to bloom amidst the slush. Despite himself, Yeti smiled.

Over the next few days, Yeti began to see spring differently. Yes, it meant melting snow and itchy shedding, but it also brought colorful wildflowers, playful mountain streams, and the return of chattering animals waking from hibernation. He realized he wasn’t the only one adjusting—everyone had their own spring struggles.

So, Yeti decided to embrace the change. He crafted a new chair from smooth stones and moss, fashioned a playful scarf from the softest tufts of his own shed fur, and even made friends with a family of marmots who showed him the best sunbathing spots.

Though he’d always love winter the most, Yeti learned that spring wasn’t just about things melting away—it was about new things growing, too. And maybe, just maybe, that wasn’t so bad after all.
