The state of NHS dentistry is increasingly alarming, revealing cracks that threaten its very foundation. Patients are struggling to find adequate dental care, practitioners are facing overwhelming pressures, and the quality of service appears to be on a steep decline. Last month a select committee looked into the contracts offered to NHS dentists, and found it woeful to say the least. It sought to illuminate the current state of NHS dentistry in the UK, explore the factors contributing to its deterioration, and urge necessary reforms before it reaches a breaking point.
