Exodus 32 is frustrating. In this story the new nation of Israel is being given it's "Constitution" (the Ten Commandments / the Law) by God and at the very same time begins to question God and attempt to redefine God. It's like amnesia sets in and yields impatience and idolatry. The consequences are horrific! In this familiar story, we see the inclination of the human heart toward sin. And it's ugly and ABSURD.
