Listen Later

Very often we're afraid we're going to say something wrong- therefore we say nothing at all. We forget that silence leaves an impact too. In this episode of Real World Parenting, Dr. Laura Anderson brings on the esteemed Beth Hall to share her expertise on having concrete conversations about race with your transracially adoptive child.

Beth Hall is an adoption educator who co-founded Pact, An Adoption Alliance, which is a multicultural anti-racist adoption organization dedicated to addressing essential issues affecting adopted children of color. Pact offers lifelong support and placement services for birth and adoptive families with adopted kids of color.

Beth is committed to serving children first. She began this journey in 1991 to combat the discrimination she witnessed against adopted children of color and their birth families. She authors numerous articles and lectures across the country. What You Will Learn:

  • How to be anti-racist

  • Ways to build trust with your children

  • Tips for a lifelong journey to promote connection

  • How to talk with (not to) your child
