In this episode of the Adjutants Lounge, Dr Phil Blood and I continue the discussion of the 14 July 1943 bombing of the city of Aachen and the subsequent investigations carried out by the RAF regarding the efficacy of their air assaults on the city. Phil then discusses how this was measured against the damage caused by the Battle of Aachen which took place between Sept and Oct 1944. Phil also discusses Aachen's turbulent history in the period immediately after liberation by the Allies in 1944.
