But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you.

John 14:26

As Jesus was preparing to go to the cross he was also preparing the disciples to carry on the ministry and mission of the church.

He promises them that even though he is leaving, he will not leave them orphaned

(14:18)

and will send the Advocate to lead and guide them.

The Advocate is the Holy Spirit which will continue to teach the disciples (and us) all the ways of God and remind us of the important things about God we already know.

We all need this!
