Chad Buel // During the Season of Lent, we're walking through a series called The Affections of Jesus and taking a closer look at the moments where Jesus responded emotionally to the people around him. In these very human moments, God's own heart for us is clearly displayed.
This week, as we look at an interaction between Jesus, a man with a shriveled hand, and a group of pharisees, we'll see that Jesus gets angry when the people he loves are treated as "less than." Through Jesus' response, we'll discover that our emotions—even our anger—don't have to stand in the way of our holiness. Rather, our anger can be a catalyst for good and godly work in our world. Following Jesus will lead us to fight for those who who face injustices and guard ourselves so we don't treat others as "less than."
