The African American History in Dubuque, IA - Part Two
The protests that have been sparked by the death of George Floyd have reached into every corner of this country. We have reached a boiling point that demands reconciliation for the racism and the roots of that racism in this country.
With countless calls to realize white privilege and calls to action over the past week I have pondered what I can do with my new found microphone and podcast. With my focus of course on Dubuque, IA I decided I would dig into the African American history right here in our own town.
I know this may be hard to swallow, but we need to acknowledge our past. Only when we pull things from the darkness and shine light on them does healing begin.
