Mkallah – Welcome to episode # 220 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community. This is Mkallah. Rght over there, we have Tetsemi (Welcome to World of Garrison Craft where your followers play the game better than you do!). And the awesome Alludra is off digging in the dirt for more pets! First off, we want to apologize for the sporadic podcasts the last few weeks- this time of the year makes it hard to record- or even, evidently, post the normal show. Thanks you, Alachaas and Hunts, for stepping in last week. That is all in the past, though- This week we are joined by special guests Rattozatto who is here to talk to us about AIE in The Secret World. Welcome!
Ok, we’ll be digging into The Secret World shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news…
AIE NEWS
Tetsemi – General:
Did you get an Xbox or PS4 for the holidays? If so, there are threads in the AIE community sections of the forums listing IDs. Also, there are lots of smaller games either ongoing or starting up all of the time, see the Imperium Ludi section of the forum for more details.
You acn also follow @AIENomads on twitter or check out the forums at http://forum.myextralife.com/forum/74-aie-nomads/ for all the information. I’m sure with all the games received over the holidays they will be picking up their roaming ways after the new year.
Shimmeredge has started a great thread on the forums- just asking- Are you Okay? A lot of us have problems- especially this time of the year, and it is nice to have a place to just vent, talk, give and get virtual hugs, etc.
And just for fun- Snaf wants to know what you got for Christmas! Reading the thread, it looks like a lot of AIE was indulged in some great geeky holiday gifts. So guys, what did you enjoy the most this season?
Mkallah: – WoW:
In pet news, Blizzard is celebrating Winter Veil by offering holiday savings of 50% on select World of Warcraft mounts and pets. Through January 5, 2015, take advantage of somg great deals in the Battle.net Shop. And the best thing is that all of these pets and mounts are fully giftable.
Did someone go out of their way to help you in game? Made your day by queueing with you one more time in an LFR? Don’t forget the Thank a Guildmate thread. Also, the AIE officers in ALL games are always looking for new Guildies of the month- they can be reached at [email protected]. We try to announce our all star at the first of every month. And this is not limited to WOW- we want to hear about great guildies in all of the games AIE play.
Always wanted to try raiding, but were afraid to start- or has your old team disbanded? Many new raid teams are forming, as well as existing ones looking for new players.
Tetsemi – LOTR-:
For the Hobbitsis annd other citizens of MIddle Earth- Dux has been kind enough to deposit a bunch of rep items for the ‘Men of Bree’ and the ‘Mathom Society’ into the house chest.
SWTOR:
AIE in SWTOR had a 3rd year anniversary celebration with a World Boss Hunt and holiday music, rumor has it there were presents as well.

A lot of the information from EVE comes from the Slack group, if you play EVE and are in AIE, make sure you sign up for this great service and app. And if you have not heard from Slack already, AIEU will be tax-free for the holiday week, until January 2nd 2015. Get your tax-free ratting in while you can, the tax rate will be raised come 2015. Also, effective immediately, AIEU’s new home in GJ0-OJ. What this actually means is that after looking at the jump bridge map, jump freighter ranges, and “closely scrutinizing”, Hoots made the decision to move our home base from QETZ-W to GJ0-OJ for a couple of reasons. Chiefly, we will serve to bump up activity in the region and give Brave and HERO eyes on any potential encroachming fleets from Tenerifis. Additionally, it’ll put us closer (via jump bridge) to our Brave staging in GE-8JV.
And with that, let’s get back to Rattozatto and find out what’s going on in The Secret World…
GAME NEWS
The Secret World is on sale on Steam during the Winter Sales event until Janurary 2nd. 25% off the game, 20% off of the Funcom Complete pack (Age of Conan: Unchained – Crush Your Enemies Pack, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, The Longest Journey, The Secret World) and 25% off of Buy the Secret World: Massive Edition which is the full game plus Issue 5, 6 and 7.
Issue #10 came out, and everything got interesting!
The addition of the AEGIS shield system was added. This adds an additional level of mitigation and survivability against all the monsters in Kaiden, but especially in the Southern section of the map.
New NPCs have been introduced, and as usual, great references are made (Get your paws off me, you damn dirty ape!).
The new Nightmare zone has been added to Kaiden, adding both practice with the new AEGIS shield system, as well as a new area to work on farming Signets to upgrade your gear.
The 2014 Christmas event addition follows tradition, by not being a stereotypical Santa story. Stonemasons, The Magic Flute, and the return of a purple menace!
Haven’t been on in a while? A great place to catch up is to follow the Story Mission that is always tracked among your mission list. Also, following the Story Mission will wind around all the locations of each map, so you will interact with all the quest givers.
