Welcome to episode #230 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has ben podcast. This is Mkallah, and I am making a mess in the guild kitchen! To my left is Tetsemi – (Darn it I rolled a 7!). Alludra is off digging in the dirt, but should return next show.. This week we are joined by special guest Velazarius who is here to talk to us about Board Games! Welcome!

AIE News
Meetups- With the arrival of spring comes many a meetup! Head on over to the meetup.com site and sign up for any of the upcoming meetups that the AIE group has to offer. Don’t see one in your area? No worries – you can plan one!

Also, GrowlyDidge has shared some amazing progress pics from his Jedi costume and lightsaber from his work with the Rebel Legion charity costuming organization. Just beautiful- take a look on the forums.

This week @AIESema, @MaxTheGrey and Astromech EPC-83 talk about game update 3.2 which showed up in the recent dev stream, in the forums and on the PTS. They talk a little about Ziost, the Costume Designer and the handful of other features we’ll see at the end of April. And as always, they cover news for the week from SWTOR in general and from AIE. AIEU POS (Player Owned Starbase) Empire
We have a POS Empire that is pretty much fully operational as of this Sunday. It’ll get us a modest amount of money every month, and I’m really glad it’s finally (mostly) done.
In order to manage the empire that I’ve slowly built since-we-invaded-Catch, I told Stu to place less of an emphasis on trucking duties and more of an emphasis on moon goo maintenance
Fleet Up and Slack
Fleet up has some pretty amazing work going on. If you aren’t on Fleet-up.com, do make it a point to get signed up. I’m going to be moving skill plans to there.
As for Slack, get on Slack. It’s where everyone talks to everyone else in AIEU, and you’re probably going to be really bored if you aren’t there.
Future
The future holds a few challenges for us. As a sov corporation, the sov changes come June are going to require a great deal of planning and execution. They place a really heavy emphasis on small groups and mobility, which is going to be ideal for what we can do, and to that end I’ll be keeping an eye on the changes and my immediate goals are to lock down the constellation we live in from outside intrusion.
FFXIV
WIth the upcoming June 23rd release of Heavensward, they have announced “specializing” in the expansion. From a recent Famitsu interview:
One of the new systems is the concept of Specialsts for crafter classes. Like before, it will still be possible to develop all of the crafter classes without limit to level 60. After you finish training, you’ll be able to choose a profession to qualify as a Specialist which may provide a special action or special recipes. It will also be possible to choose multiple specializations. You will be able to switch but it will take some time. We want to narrow down people’s focus so that rather than wanting to do everything, they instead want to focus on really working on refining just one class.
