Welcome to episode # 248 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community. This is Alludra, and I think you are awesome, with me as always, is Mkallah (there is an angel food cake in the guild kitchen) and right over there, we have Tetsemi. (“spread sheets blah blah”). This week we are joined by special guests Kelseer who is here to talk to us about AIE in Final Fantasy 14! Welcome!
Abovan is missing in action tonight. Last we heard, he has gone missing fighting the Abo-twin’s dirty diaper monsters. He does wish everyone well, and the kids are doing awesome and are still crazy cute.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s synopsis of the Star Trek Online News for week ending 01/31/2016:
1. Star Trek Online’s 6th Anniversary started with daily giveaways, a Q Continuum game, Omega particle mini game, a new Featured Episode and a new Science ship as the event prize along with new lockbox and Lobi ships as well..
2. The daily giveaways will happen from Tuesday, January 26 to Tuesday, February 2, and include ships, tech R&D upgrades, spec points, fleet dilithium credit vouchers, uniforms and more. Any player may claim them and they change daily.
3. Our favorite PITA, The Q, has returned to join the celebration with a game to win reputation marks along with a liberal supply his usual snarky commentary
4. The event prize starship is a Krenim Science vessel with awesome stats. Now your Science captains, have a shiny new starship with a science focus. The lockbox ships are the epic T6 Tholian Tarantula Dreadnaught and the rare T5 Tholian Meshweaver destroyer. The fearsome Mirror Universe Paradox attack ship is now available in the Lobi Crystal store.
5. Omega particles strewn about the galaxy have been reintroduced with a mini game to collect them for awesome R&D crafting materials for your upgrades.
6. Lastly, the new Featured Episode, ’Time and Tide’, carries the ’Year of Hell’ temporal warfare to the next level. Having played ’Time and Tide’, the time travel story arc is leading to great promise and danger with the Mirror Universe lurking about along with a Temporal Cold War that may await. The story in written in the classical style of classical Star Trek.

GAME NEWS
Patch 3.2, “Gears of Change” is going to be released on February 23rd! An early birthday present for Kelseer.
Big Changes / New Things:
New Raid, “Alexander: Midas”, the second hardcore raid wing.
New gear tier and new tomestones, aka currency for armor. The new armor is themed around the Final Fantasy summons that were fought in A Realm Reborn, such as Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, etc.
Materia melding is coming to raid gear, which is new. Overmelding isn’t possible on this gear (yay!)
LOTS of new crafting recipes are on their way. A lot of the gear is raid-ready, and while the raid drops are better ilvl wise, they will help with challenging the raids.
Most duty roulettes can be done with friends now, so more AIE parties!
Two new end-game dungeons, the Antitower, which appears to be an upside-down tower related to the main story, and everyone’s favorite creepy dungeon, Lost City of Amdapor hard-mode
The Antitower appears to be inspired by Ispen’s Castle from FF9.
Tanks are getting their stats changed, in that vitality will affect their damage. That way they will stop using STR gear, maybe.
