Welcome to episode #269 of the the podcast celebrating the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. This is Mkallah: To my left is Mewkow: (Greeting, Gamers). And to my left is Tetsemi (catch phrase here) And we are running this thing like a scenario instead of a five man, so we are doing this on our own this week- but, stick around for the end of the show, we have news on a trio of very very special guests!

Ok, we’ll be chatting about what we have been doing in and out of game shortly, but first, let’s cover this week’s news…

Community

Hey, gang, I am sure that a lot of you have seen some rather cryptic posts on Facebook and Twitter about the loss of a dear guild mate, but no names have been attached. We are doing that out of respect for their family. One of the greatest things about our guild is that we are community and we are family, and these times are never easy. So, be gentle and kind, there is a lot of sadness right now and everyone grieves differently. As we can share more, we will.

We know that AIE’s 10th anniversary passed this last week to little fanfare- but be rest assured, in the works! Because, why celebrate one day when we can celebrate all year. And, if you want to run an event for our big year, contact Nevermore in game, on discord, via twitter, etc.

Blizzard announced this week a new mount available in World of Warcraft, the Primal Flamesaber. How do you obtain this new hotness you might ask? Well, you need to grab a friend and jump into Heroes of the Storm. Play 15 games (win or lose, against a real team or the AI) as a Warcraft Hero, and the mount is yours! Looking for a friend or a group? The #LFG channel in AIE’s discord is a great place to find people looking for a partner for this event. You have until March 13th to complete your 15 game, so you don’t have to run them all at once, unless that’s your jam!

Just a reminder that the 250% gain to XP and Command XP (for max level characters) is going on through April XXth. If you’re max level, make sure you CTRL-G and open up the Galactic Command panel and see where the CXP bonus is each day for even more CXP goodness.

FFXIV

The last of three Fanfests was hosted in Frankfurt, Germany this weekend. The last big reveals for the game’s next expansion, Stormblood (release date 20 June 2017)-

Last of two new jobs revealed — Samurai (Melee DPS, unfortunately). Previously announced was Red Mage (Ranged DPS). Inventory and housing capacities are being increased (just for Sashi) . New zones, cities, and a new residential area with an Eastern theme are being introduced. The newly revealed map is huge, practically tripling the size of the known world, showing us what’s to come. (http://i.redd.it/9ddv7y5ifpgy.png) The FFXIV crew is excited for the new expansion and will be sitting down to chat with us closer to the release of the expansion to share in all the wonderful details of Stormblood.

Also- And they(SQEX) have 3 new world records to brag about.

Longest credits in an mmo (1h 38 mins), most original pieces of music in a game with 384 tracks, and most prolific role playing game series with 87 Final Fantasy Titles.

Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 2/19/2017:

The new Season 12, ‘Reckoning’, story arc is still moving along nicely. The first featured mission, ‘Of Signs and Portents’, is in it’s 4th week with additional rewards and 7th Anniversary prize vouchers for each replay. New space and ground and exploration scenarios are featured.

Major changes are coming to STO! According to the latest blog posting, drastic changes to the STO experience are being tested. For 7 years STO has been adding and updating content, systems and play mechanics. To maintain optimal gameplay and maximum fun, STO is scheduled to be totally reset and re-balanced. The numerous changes and details of these soon-to-be-released updates, are listed on the website.

A Bonus Marks weekend is in progress! During the event, Fleet and Reputation marks will reward a 50% bonus above normal amounts. This would be a great time to build your Fleet projects or reputation.

Concurrently, a costumes and boost sale is happening in the C-Store this weekend. Costume packs are 20% off. Show off your Seven-of-Nine skin-tights to your fleet mates! Also, all Commendation points, R&D Research XP and basic player XP booster packs are also 20% off.

Additionally, a 20% off ship sale is also transpiring this weekend in the C-Store as well. If your secret desire is that sexy, new ship, give in to your feelings and act now!

GAME NEWS

Tetsemi – 4th toon, Bounty Hunter, to level 70 in SWTOR and just finished the Makeb storyline and heroics, heading to do Shadows of Revan.

My Smuggler, who also hit 70 during the Makeb storyline, is going through Shadows of Revan as well, and has actually made it planet side.

Working on trying to collect all the Odessen Bind to Legacy gear from the crates you get from doing heroics at max level and turning in at your alliance base.

Got my 3rd legendary drop (shoulders to go with chest and gloves) on my warrior and we’re 4/10 on Nighthold Normal and thanks to the DMF I got my Jewelcrafting to 800.

Working on my Class and Order Hall campaign for my Death Knight and her tradeskills (blacksmith/mining)

Working on leveling my Paladin and his tradeskills (alchemy/herbalism)

Mew – On top of the raiding I’ve been doing with FERT, I’ve been busy with my ‘other’ raid team, Banana Republic. We recently managed to overcome Guldan after the challenge that was Elisande, and even returned the next week and took him down a second time for good measure.

Outside of WoW, I’ve been grinding MGP, having managed to get the mini-cactapot jackpot 3 times this week. Closer to those cosmetic and mount goals.

In SWTOR, I’ve working on my imp spy.

Poking at Fallout 4.

And finally joined that Fire Emblem game.

MK – slowly getting back into WOW. Hopefully in the next few months, we will have new systems and that will help. Killed Harpies in high mountain and dealing with the Bloodtotems- loving the Star Wars “I have a bad feeling about this” and “It’s a trap”.
