And if you find yourself enjoying the game, there is currently a refer a friend event where existing players of the Year 2 Forsaken expac can invite those with the free copy, or even those that haven’t bought Forsaken yet, to play with them and earn all sorts of fun rewards. These include an exotic sniper rifle, a ship, and even an exotic sparrow for those that refer multiple friends.
Mandatory Fun Nights
Monday – GW2 9:30 pm Eastern
Saturday – STO 10 pm Eastern
WoW
Kardinal, tell us your first hand experience with the chaos that is NOOB raid! (Can throw to Kardinal if you want; I was there. 🙂 I can make a story of it. )
December community events: COOP for Winter Veil, no date yet;
Time After Timewalking event on Friday Dec 7th at 9pm Eastern/Server. LK Ulduar Timewalking raid. Details will be posted soon to the blog.
November Officer Play Date: Nov 30th at 10:30 pm Eastern we are having an Overwatch night. Everyone is invited. Come get to know your fellow officers outside of WoW. Let’s see how many custom games and groups we can get going.
Raid Bank Pilot Program: This program is doing really well, and we are getting a lot of positive feedback. If you are interested in applying for a raid team guild bank tab, please email us.
(Kardinal’s in BLTN, can talk about our experience and why we love it. Much more convenient. Don’t have to know who to send to. Don’t need to know what’s needed. Just throw whatever we think is useful in the guild bank. Anyone who needs, takes. Just need to trust your teammates, which we all do. Because we’re AIE.)
If you are the leader of a raid team that might be interested in this program once it is approved, or have questions or feedback about such a program, please email us with details such as:

SWTOR
Last night. We had SWTOR Unite. Which was….. All of the SWTOR podcasters united for a night and we took on the Gods from the Machine operation. AIE was well represented by Max, Sema, Marcus, and a last minute fill in was Corley. We went for about 4 hours and had a blast. In the end. Izax was still standing. But what a great night.

FFXIV
EVE
Nothing much, except more betrayals within alliances (so you end up with fights that are free for all, or where your ally helps your enemy). Even with CCP being bought out, the players are the most important resource in EvE, and Tears Do Flow Them Rivers!
Also WAR! WAR! WAR!
Onslaught Winter update is coming Nov. 13th
We just maybe, maybe making a new home for ourselves by stomping on some poor unsuspecting alliance’s neck. Oopsies!
What does that mean for AIEU? Why our specialty of course! Moving

LOTRO
Only VIPs / VIP Lifer can access them, and we’re effectively starting over all at once. I suspect Helegrod, the first raid back in the day, will be the ultimate goal after hitting level 40.
GAME NEWS
The themes of our talk:
1) the ability to talk to nearly anyone and know you have common interests.
2) the availability and eagerness of developers to talk to anyone and everyone who approached them.
Tetsemi – Overall thoughts are positive, lots of announcements, both expected and unexpected. Loved listening to the Before The Con panels, as well as all the panels at Blizzcon. The WoW panels (especially the Q&A) and the Warcraft III Reforged panels were amazing. The Costume/Talent contest was very well done, definitely bring back Darren DePaul for that, and the Warcraft Horde vs. Alliance voice actor panel was worth it with Laura Bailey singing Daughter of the Sea live.

Kardinal experience with Blizzcon
“The other day, John Staats released his WoW diary. The one he wrote when he was working on Vanilla. I was reading it last night. This is very relevant to the whole conversation, I think:
“In the spirit of education, the first thing I would like to impress upon you is one of the most surprising lessons I learned: Public speculation is always wrong. Always. Blizzard operated under a blanket of scrutiny, and only after I was in the meetings could I appreciate how inaccurate public analysis was. Unless you’re in the room, you have no idea what’s going on. Unless someone knows firsthand the reasons why a company makes decisions, popular conjecture is completely off. For a company as secretive as Blizzard, the tinfoil-hat theorizing about why we did anything was severe, cynical, and reactionary. It struck me how people universally assumed corporate decisions were thoughtless or callous—like if a feature was dropped, it was done so without regard for the feelings of the fan base. When decisions were made for financial grounds, people assumed it was because developers lacked imagination. Whenever technical or gameplay decisions were made, it was assumed the company was penny-pinching. I’m not even referring to the trolls dredging the game forums for flame wars; I’m talking about the intelligent, well-substantiated, and reasonable arguments about why Blizzard did this or why Blizzard did that. But…all of it was wrong and certainly not because the fan base was stupid. People were wrong because they considered only variables that were public knowledge—which were only a fraction of the pertinent factors.”
