Welcome to episode #320 of the the podcast celebrating you, the Alea Iacta Est gaming community, the die has been podcast. This is Mewkow: To my left is Tetsemi: – (catch phrase here). This week we are joined by special guests Corley and Dent who are here to talk to us about AIE in Star Trek Online, Welcome!

NOMADS

The Division 2 Title update 3 was released and the “Dark Hours” raid went live this past week. A new 8 player mission. The next “Apparel Event” is also live and you can collect special outfits until June 6th. If you’re interested in raiding in the Division 2, visit the AIE discord channel #division2 and check the pinned topics.

Diablo 3’s Season 17 has begun. It brings the usual fare of seasonal cosmetic rewards and additional stash tabs. Some new quality of life changes include a search feature in the stash and the addition of 3 more Torment levels: 14, 15, and 16. This season’s theme is “The Season of Nightmares.” Every character will receive the bonus “Legacy of Nightmare (LoN). “This means that everyone will enjoy the powerful benefits of the “no Set” Set and any and every Ancient Legendary you find is that much more valuable.”

If you’re a Diablo 3 player and want to hop in for a power level this season or run rifts with AIE members, make sure to hop into Discord’s #nomads channel and say hello. We have a community available for you to join as well.

Saturday Noob Raid is doing great, clearing bosses faster and faster, so come have fun with us.

WoW Classic Beta started invites, with an AIE presence on PvE Horde mostly (from what I could read, as I refresh my email hourly, hoping for the invite).

Friday Night Alliance Raid team still recruiting. An unnamed discord has been just created to help facilitate the new Alliance raid team! The link is posted in #raidteam-recruitment

The next Mega will be… FRIDAY June 14!!! 9pm Eastern IMP SIDE

More news: Our MFN leads have come up with a new idea for our MFN schedule. We’ll be running a series of operations as part of MFN, but since it’s hard to complete the operation in a single night, whatever we don’t finish we will schedule for a following week. The trick there is that a handful of heroes will go in early, before MFN, and clear some of the bosses to get the MFN group a progressed lockout. Should be fun and should get more people a chance to see end bosses.

The launch date for 5.10.3 “The Dantooine Incursion” is set for 5/28/19. Pirates, pets, mounts, new armor looks, decos and even an Ugnaught companion! Ok, one pet. But lots of pirates.

ESO

Early access to Elsweyr begins on May 20th and official release is June 4th. Please save the beginning quest for that zone on at least one toon until the the first MFN after the official launch because our MFN that night will be starring that zone together. Until then MFN’s will be zone clears and dungeon runs every Friday night at 9pm EST

GW2

The living world season 4’s final episode, War Eternal is out. It features a new mount, the skyscale dragon, that can hover and climb walls. Be sure to log in to a toon to unlock the episode even if you don’t have Path of Fire.

They also released a new legendary weapon, the great sword Exordium. This is the final legendary weapon that was promised us for Heart of Thorns, and was worth the wait, having many custom animation and transformations.

FFXIV

The Event poll is still up, if you are listening to this live. The poll will close at 11:59pm EST on Sunday. Get your voices heard!

The FFXIV x FFXV crossover event is still running until May 27th! There is still time to get the car 4-player mount. We will be running the Jackpot II FC buff on the weekends to help get those MGPs to get that mount.

Reminder, Shadowbringers: Early Access for pre-orders starts up on June 28th. Pre-ordering today also get you an earring that levels with you and gives you an xp bonus to level 70 on all battle classes. (If it sounds like a WoW Heirloom, is because it acts almost identical to it.)

The next FFXIV Live Letter is scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd at 1:30pm EST from media tour in San Francisco. We are expecting to hear some more details on Shadowbringers, job changes, and the ever mysterious “miscellaneous announcements.” This live letter will include the translators, so no need to brush up on your Japanese to understand what is going on!

This can change every Tuesday, but as of this recording, Goblin, the server that AIE plays on, is a preferred server for new characters. New characters created during this time will get a double xp bonus on all xp sources, all jobs, until level 60.

Again, if you only have the starter edition, Heavenward, the first expansion, is free for you for a limited time. Just head over to the SE store and “buy” it for 0 dollars and 0 cents. PS4 folks, you can get the same deal on the PSN.

Maellung Arrowshield is continuing to run Saturday Night LOTRO (SNL) on Saturdays at 2030 Eastern.

Fleet Updates

Last week we completed construction on our Tier 2 Spire in the Dyson’s Sphere. Our goal is to complete the Spire to Tier 3. In Star Trek Online we have many bases that the fleet can visit and hangout in. They are similar to the Guild Ships in SWTOR, but also unlock gear and abilities that players can purchase for their characters.

Most Sunday Nights we have an MFN at 8:30 PM Eastern. We usually run new content and if there’s an event going on we will run that. Like all good engineers, we work on getting a little more out of those warp cores, or whatever bit of tech needs adjusting. Episodes are sometimes run if a new player needs help leveling.

Major Game Updates

New Reputation was release this week, Discovery Legends. This new reputation is Discovery themed that includes three new sets of gear, Burnham’s Resolve (3 Piece Ground Set), Lorca’s Ambition (3 Piece Space Weapon Set) and Stamets-Tilly’s Ingenuity(4 Piece Space Set).

Along with the release of the new reputation, a new season of episodes was released, Rise of Discovery. So far two episodes have been released and focus around what happens prior to when Lorca takes command of the Discovery. For these episodes they were able to get Jason Isaacs and Rekha Sharma to reprise their roles of Lorca and Landry. Aren’t holodeck fantastic?

Tier 6 ship are now able to be used at any level and are not locked to endgame players. They scale as you level so their slots and stats match what ships of your character’s level should be.

Another thing with Tier 6 ships, STO has release a mechanism where you can earn a T6 100% discount coupon to purchase a free T6 ship for your account. It takes a long time to complete and requires playing new content to earn the tokens.
