Nick and Marcus look ahead to the games their most looking forward to coming out in 2020, and of course recap what they’ve been up to in their gaming lives.

Patch 8.3 is out and the guild activity level seems to be up as people are doing daily quests, looking for groups for Horrific visions, and camping rare mount spawns.
The new raid opened on Tuesday and a number of raid teams are progressing through it while Blizzard hurriedly fixes in bugs with hotfixes and extended maintenance windows.
If you’re looking for a raid team, make sure you check the #raid-recruitment channel in AIE Discord and if you’re looking for a group to run Horrific visions or the Heroic version of Mechagon, make sure you check the #lfg channel for people looking for groups.
UMAMI applications are no longer a requirement for WoW Retail. We are opening up guild recruitment to the server with the in-game recruitment system. New and current members of AIE can continue to use Discord, aielfo in-game community, as well as the new Blizzard guild recruitment system to request guild invites. We want to thank Stigg for everything he has done with our UMAMI system and Greenwall, and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for AIE.

Sema San Diego!!! We will be hiding Sema on a planet. What planet you ask? You will have to come to find out. Looci and the Officers will have the clues you will need to find Sema.

Our operations teams are thriving. Some are working through the new operation, some are working through the whole progression of all the operations, and some are doing whichever operation they feel like doing that week!
We’ve done 3 MFNs so far this year and have been extremely happy to have had some players come with us that had never seen those operations. It’s always fun when that happens.
We are looking forward to a new Stronghold–this time on the beautiful planet of Alderaan. I know what you’re thinking, but it’s still thousands of years before THAT happens. The stronghold is currently on the PTS, so watch for times when the PTS is available if you want to hop in and stroll around in it.
The next patch is 6.1 and should be coming some time in February. It will include some class changes, the Alderaan stronghold and a “story beat”.

ESO
Update 25 is coming soon and will be the start of the year-long Dark Heart of Skyrim adventure. It will bring performance improvements and a patching overhaul as well as the first DLC of the year called Harrowstorm. Harrowstorm will have new item sets and collectables as well as 2 new dungeons that set up the events of the upcoming Greymoor Chapter. The dungeons will be Unhallowed Grave, a long-forgotten tomb, and Icereach, where you get to confront witches. There is no set date for Harrowstorm yet, but eta is sometime in Q1 of 2020. We know it will be out before Greymoor launches and the release date for Greymoor is May 18th for PC/Mac and June 2 for console.

Settled in the new home system. Bringing up their lil cubby holes ADM’s so they can truly start doing big boy stuff. Hoots has plans to start making stuff for corpies and corpies are helping by donating needed materials for said process and the coalition is being harassed by russians..again.
LOTRO
They are going to delay the start of SNL until after the podcast is over.
And with that, let’s get back to Abo and Durus and find out what’s going on in Final Fantasy 14
GAME NEWS
First off, congrats are in order for Testsemi, as he has completed the MSQ and is caught up to the current story content in FFXIV. That’s the base game with 5 patches (and some sub-patches), Heavensward, 5 patches and change, Stormblood with its handful of patches, Shadowbringers, and its one major patch.
Remember that there’s still plenty of story content to do after you finish the MSQ! Raids in all 4 expansions, trials, 24-player stuff which is heavy on the story, plot, and intrigue, maps, crafting (yes, even the crafting classes and quests have a story!), and the legend of the world’s greatest detective, Hildabrand! This game is bursting at the seams with content and character! And we’re here to help you make sense of it all.

Theresa and Viv’s Ceremony of Eternal Bonding is scheduled for Wednesday, 1/29 at 8:00 PM Eastern. Please see either of them or check the FC chest for an invitation that you must possess to enter the event space at the appointed time.

In the meantime, we are running a weekly map night, Saturday nights at 8pm until we run out of maps. Map nights are using the treasure maps found from mining, botaning (picking flowers or chopping trees), fishing, or just buying them from the market boards. Using a map will consume the map, but show a little piece of the map from the game with the big red X for the treasure. You then go to that location and dig for treasure. Of course, each chest is booby-trapped, so you will need to fight off a bunch of monsters to get to your treasure. Once everyone in your party gets their loot, there is a chance that a portal to a bonus zone will appear!
This bonus zone is only available thru 8-player treasure maps. Going into the zone seems to act normal. Go in, beat up on some bad guys, get loot. But then the party has to make a choice between two doors. One door leads to the next room, with cash and fabulous prizes await. The other door will set off alarms, sirens, and kick the party out of the dungeon.
The map nights are very casual, super fun, and very profitable. Anyone level 80 can join in. You don’t have to bring a map to join in, but bringing maps helps everyone out.
PATCH PATCH PATCH
FFXIV is wrapping up the current 5.1 patch cycle, and is starting up the hype machine for 5.2.
The even number patches are fun because they have a new gear tier and raid tier introduced. So, as a guild, we tend to do the story mode raids on a regular basis, as that is the difficulty that most people want to do. So, when the patch does hit, expect to have us run some fun nights thru the new Eden tier.
