Mining trips continue as we work towards building Anti-Grav technology. Some of the more rare materials still elude our grasps, but we hope to soon find them.
As the game is still in Beta there are constant improvements, perhaps the most exciting recent addition is a few additional logic gate elements including the Nand, Nor, and the ever loved XOR gates.
The Organization is in need of Coal and Carbon. So if you are sitting on a large hoard then feel free to drop these off for project use.

The widening Gyre event is going on now and as part of the ways to add to the completion is a new TFO (dungeon) called Synth Wave. This is from the show Picard. Getting 20 days off completion gets you a full space set.
All T5 and T6 can now have an experimental upgrade to them, making them a little more powerful. This gives you a universal console slot, another ship trait slot (linked to the ship though), and another device slot. Everyone gets one free experimental ship upgrade per account, but you can buy more from the Zen store at 1000 Zen for 1 or 2000 Zen for 3.
MFN on Sundays are still going strong.

And with that, let’s get back to Abovan and find out what’s going on in FFXIV.
GAME NEWS
The highlight is the Bozjan Front. This is the next phase of the resistance weapon quest chain, although it is not required to upgrade the resistance weapon.
The zone consists of a staged zone, where you stay in the lower zone until you level and quest your way up, then you unlock the 2nd area, then the 3rd. It uses an independent leveling system. All jobs are scaled up to level 80 and jobs that are level 71+ can enter, so it could be used as a 71+ leveling zone.
The primary goal is to find Skirmishes, which are like FATEs in the main game world. These will reward some gil, experience (for leveling jobs), tomestones, and mettle, which is the experience point system for The Bozjan Front. Sometimes, a completed Skirmish will trigger a special Critical Engagement, which you will be prompted to queue up for. When you join one, it carves out a little piece of the zone as an arena for the 48 players for the encounter. This is a full boss encounter, with high health, mechanics, and overall fun fight. Once that concludes and loot is is awarded (mettle, tomestones, lockboxes, and relic weapon items), there is a chance that it will trigger a Solo Critical Engagement, and someone who was in the first Critical Engagement will be selected to fight a boss, one-on-one as the rest of the player can spectate or go about their business. Lots of cheering and emoting happens during these events.
There are drops that can be used as lockboxes for items, cosmetics, pets, and lost action, consumable actions that can be used in the Bozjern Front.
Also, items can be acquired in the front to upgrade the relic weapon. These can drop from any mob in the front, either in the skirmish or not. These items can also be acquired outside of this new zone, via fates in the Heavensward expansion. There is a 2nd step to get items from the Bozjan Front but can be acquired by running level 60 dungeons or your first Leveling roulette of the day.
As AIE, we ran the new Bozjern Front and it provided enough battle and randomness that makes map nights fun. We ran it as a group (with people bowing in and out as they wished), and it was a ton of fun. Skirmishes, critical engagements, and lots of fun all around. We will continue to run this content on Thursday nights, 8:30pm-ish (Final start time to be decided, ask in the #FFXIV channel for updates).
Other content in this .x5 patch include updates to the skybuilders’ crafting relics, a few new minions, hairstyles, emotes, mounts, new seasons for the Feast (competitive PvP), and for the first players to log in for 5 minutes when the patch went live, new housing plots.
Map nights continue to be a big draw. A level 80 character is required, but maps will be provided. If you bring your own maps, that is greatly appreciated. Maps are tons of fun, highly profitable, casual content that helps players at all skill levels and play types, either you be an end game raider looking for gil and tomestones, a casual player looking for cosmetics and gil, or someone casually playing looking for some fun and some gil.
Patch 5.4 is coming over the horizon, estimated to drop sometime in December. Aside from the normal “Even” numbered patches (last installment of the Eden raid, game adjustments, ect), we will be getting a 2nd type of map dungeon. For those that have done maps in the Storblood content, there is a 2nd type of map that acts like a wheel of fortune, and the screenshot that we have so far looks similar. AIE Map nights will surely be looking forward to this once we get our hands on it.
As a group, we are looking at expanding our fun nights to adding a bit more structure. We have been tossing around the idea of having legacy raid nights, doing past content that player may not have done themselves in previous expansions. We also want to do some story raids, such as Eden, Omega, or the Dark Apocalypse raids on a regular schedule. See the #FFXIV channel for details on this.
