Baltimore City Councilman Brandon Scott is introducing a bill to change the name of Columbus Day to Indigenous Persons Day within Baltimore City. Apparently, all of Baltimore's other problems will be solved.

What Scott fails to realize is that his bill does little more than bring attention to himself, does nothing to help indigenous persons or residents of Baltimore City, and is a throwback to anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic sentiments of the past.
