She crossed the Atlantic twice as a crew member and crossed the pacific in 2016 with her on their own boat. She is the Executive Director of Accessurf Hawaii. 

During her time Accessurf Hawaii was awarded the “Best Non-profit Marketing of the Year by the American Marketing Association Hawaii, the same year she was honored as one of the ‘Heroes Next Door’ by Star Advertiser. 

In 2016 The Hawaii State Senate and House of Representatives – Officially Recognized Accessurf for 10 Years of Service in addition to a Proclamation from Mayor Caldwell for ‘AccesSurf Day’ in honor of the 10 year anniversary.

 In 2018 Accessurf received the John Kelly Award for  Community Wave Maker and in 2019 she was honored as Business Leader of the year by PBN. She is Cara Short
