As of July 1, 2026, Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation division has officially announced that in 2028, they will cease production of all physical disc games. They announced this alongside multiple other controversial decisions, and in this episode, let's talk about why this is a horrible anti-consumer practice and why physical media is so vitally important to the preservation of gaming and the entertainment industry as a whole.
