During
the Race's first trip ever to the Island of Malta, the teams carried
drinks up St. Ursula's Staircase to a table of knights. After
rappelling at the roadblock in the Blue Grotto, the teams entered a
blind detour where they ran up a greased pole to retrieve a pair of
flags or applied elbow grease on some tarnished armor. The Speed Bump
called for more painting skills on a pair of Maltese shields. The
field was reduced to five teams at the pit stop, Fort Manoel.
