President Donald Trump is weighing the reinstatement of Project Freedom – as well as a potential renewal of military strikes – after Iran rejected a U.S.-backed proposal that would have opened the Strait of Hormuz and ended hostilities for a 30-day negotiation period. Pakistan has begun helping Iran shield and shelter its military aircraft following the ceasefire with the US, according to reports. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito yesterday extended a temporary stay on a federal appeals court ruling that would have reinstated restrictions on the abortion drug mifepristone, keeping nationwide access by mail in place until Thursday. The Trump administration proposed a new rule that would allow employers to offer in-vitro fertilization (IVF) directly to workers through a new category of health coverage exempt from some Affordable Care Act requirements. Cole Tomas Allen, who stands accused of attempting to assassinate Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, pleaded not guilty yesterday to all federal charges. In the UK: Three Labour MPs quit as ministerial aides and called for Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign. Calls for his resignation continue to increase following the election over the weekend. The EU will invite a delegation of the Taliban to discuss immigration. This would mark the first step in the European Union formally recognizing the Taliban as Afghanistan's legitimate government.
