Meet Zac Horrocks, 7th-generation Adirondacks fishing guide and international angling host. He’ll be hosting a trip in August of 2025 to Brazil’s Kendjam Lodge, and he sat down to talk with us about all the things he’s looking forward to.
Zac has been traveling his whole life. He grew up taking frequent fishing trips with his parents, and his adult life has been a combination of destination ski and fishing trips. A professional freeskier and mogul skier, Zac has taken trips to Alaska, Europe and Japan in pursuit of some of the world’s best backcountry and heli-skiing opportunities. His fishing life has taken him everywhere from Belize and Mexico, all through Central America, back to Japan, this time to target taimen.
For all of the traveling that Zac has done, he’s particularly excited about Kendjam. The chance to experience the culture of the indigenous Kayapó, the sounds of the Amazon rainforest at night, and one of the planet’s most pristine fisheries has Zac daydreaming at his fly-tying vise. Right now, he’s focused on building a team of anglers to accompany him on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Kendjam Lodge offers the opportunity to experience one of the world’s last untouched corners and to learn from the local Kayapó guides and community members that have fought passionately to protect it. Click to hear from Zac firsthand, and don’t miss the chance to sign on for this incredibly unique experience.
