The year is 2187. A group of strangers gather outside of x̌ʷay̓x̌ʷəy̓ in time for the Equinox. They must first quarantine themselves before entering the sphere. The travelers are met by the famous Archivist Phe, who ushers them in with news of a mysterious and impending message from the Fungal Intelligence.

After receiving a surprise visit from his granddaughter Eden, he reminisces about the journey he made 30 years earlier, to the x̌ʷay̓x̌ʷəy̓ Sphere. It was on this trip that his world view was completely transformed by the chance encounters with a group of strangers and the famed Fungal Intelligence.
