Shortly after Jesus' 40-day teaching during the Great Commission concerning the Kingdom of God (Acts 1: 1-3; Matthew 28: 16-20). In Acts 2:46, Luke writes that these new Christians "… continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine." There are four questions here. First, what does it mean "to continue steadfastly?" Secondly, what is meant by the term "the apostles' doctrine?" Thirdly, what was that doctrine? And fourth, why did Jesus choose only apostles during this momentous event and not the other four gifts mentioned in Ephesians 4:11?
