Long book tells little
I will not read this one again because it was to long, too descriptive and too detailed for my taste. Story could have been 4 hours shorter by my standard. BUT, I do love British novels so I am glad I read it once.
Lovely book
Frances is at a crossroads in her life living in Brighton with her mother, Madge. With a failed marriage behind her she decides to get right away, buying a farmhouse in her mother's native Yorkshire. Frances and Madge soon settle into the community in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and Frances's plans to turn Beck farmhouse into a bed and breakfast begin to take shape as she employs local businessman, Alex, to oversee the conversions needed in the house. Finding a carved plaque below the apple tree sets Frances on a mission to discover more about the previous owner of the house.
