Think of a surgeon - a highly experienced one - who now has arthritis. This surgeon can no longer hold a scalpel, but still has incredible knowledge and experience.

Is that still of value?

Of course it is!

So, too, if you were to charge for your services without actually delivering anything, that could be of immense value. It's applying your mind, your expertise, to a particular problem. You'd be charging for your diagnosis, and for the prescription, but not for implementing anything.
