Paul argues for unity in the body of Christ and he does so by invoking God's attributes!  If we are all going to be one then it follows that we fully understand the God we are meant to follow.   Understanding God's attributes can be hard because they transcend human comprehension, however, we can still understand the importance and implications of all that God is.
