During a midnight film screening, The Dark Knight Rises, James Holmes set off smoke bombs and tear gas before baring arms at the audience of over 100 moviegoers.
Twelve innocent people were killed, and 70 others were injured.  It was the deadliest shooting in Colorado since the Columbine High School massacre in 1999.
