Australia is one of the United States’ most trusted trading partners and allies. This year marks 11 years since the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement entered into force. The United States ranks as Australia's second-highest two-way trading partner with good and services trade reaching $65 billion last year. The United States is the largest source of foreign investment into Australia, totaling just over $700 billion in 2014.
