Seattle, Washington resident Tom Vandermolen is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest earning him a trip to Hollywood for a week-long master-class workshop, an awards event and his winning story will be published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 40.
Tom Vandermolen started out life as a military brat, born in Japan to a US Navy sailor and a Japanese mother, but raised primarily in the American South. A childhood of books, comics, movies, excellent English grades, and mediocre math grades resulted in a collection of short story rejections and, inexplicably, a physics degree. After college, what should have been a short enlistment as a nuclear submarine officer somehow became a twenty-two-year career as a Navy intelligence officer. No one is sure how any of this happened.                                                                                                        Tulsa, Oklahoma resident Arthur Haywood is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest earning him a trip to Hollywood for a week-long master-class workshop, an awards event and his winning art will be published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 40.
Arthur Haywood was born in 1990 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Creating graffiti murals as a teenager with his teacher, Pose 2, inspired him to share his work publicly in murals. Having a father who has organized reading camps as a State Senator, and a mother who has been president of the local school board showed him the influence of reading on the lives of students.  Being an avid reader, who judged books by their covers, led him to sharing stories he loves with others through illustration. He is focused on making book covers, murals for libraries and schools to engage youth in reading.                                                                                                          Portland, Oregon resident Steven Bentley is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest earning him a trip to Hollywood for a week-long master-class workshop, an awards event and his winning art will be published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 40.                                                Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia resident Kal M is a winner in the L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest earning her a week-long master-class workshop and her winning story will be published in the international bestselling anthology, L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 40.  In addition, she'll be honored at an awards event in Hollywood, California USA at the Taglyan Complex on April 25th.
Kal M writes from the crowded outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she grew up with the lofty ambition of someday working in an office and maybe even getting to wear a tie. She spent most of her time reading instead of playing outside. Eventually she figured out that all those books had to be written by someone, and that maybe she could even become one of those someones. So she got a respectable degree from a respectable university, and then immediately decided to disappoint her parents by announcing she’d write stories instead of contracts. This is her first time actually selling one.
