The Babadook (2014) - Grief, Trauma, and Inner Demons vs Motherhood

Listen Later

In this episode Will and Lee take a look at writer / director Jennifer Kent's awesomely allegorical horror classic The Babadook. This classic horror film from Australia deals heavily in the grief and trauma of protagonist Amelia, played wonderfully by Essie Davis. Listen in as the boys break down how allegory and metaphor were woven into Kent's film and how motherhood, grief and trauma were handled by the first female writer /director to appear on Script To Scream.
