Publisher's Summary:
Few writers recount tales of the old West as deftly as Pulitzer Prize-nominee and two-time winner of the Western Writers of America Spur Award Loren D. Estleman. Now, some of Estleman's finest work comes to life in this collection of vivid and richly detailed Western short stories.
Included are "The Pilgrim", a colorfully detailed historical tale of one Easterner's experience in the untamed wilds of the West, and "Hell on the Draw", an unsettling combination of frontier living and the supernatural. This is a compelling collection.

Confusing
Some stories were very interesting and held my interesting. Others , I felt, ended without finishing the tale. It left me hanging.
These are really wonderful stories for any reader who likes short form fiction
These are really wonderful stories for any reader who likes short form fiction. I'm not a western-genre reader by any means.
Great stories
I loved these stories! Like a cross between Mark Twain, Hemmingway, and L'Amour. Most westerns treat the reader like a dummy, and spoon feed the story. This author let's you figure out the moral of the story.
Great short stories.
Estleman is a first class writer. His stories of the west ring true and are quite enjoyable. A good read.
