Including this brief introduction the first 16 parts of Season 2 will be chapter readings from Ethel Barrymore Girl Actress by Shirlee P. Newman. I have chosen to release each chapter individually. Since the main conceit of this podcast is for my daughter... well we all know how the attention span of a child works. Not for long at a time. 

I had a wonderful time reading these chapters as the book is a fun, childs eye view of Ethel Barrymore from a child in a family of great actors, to a grown up woman with a theatre named after her. It's an inspiring story and a fantastic little bit of historical fiction for the wee ones. Us grown ups are likely to learn a thing or two as well regarding America's preeminent family of stage and screen...
