THE BEAUTY OF ATONEMENT

I found a scripture in Leviticus chapter 9 verse 4. I feel it worth reflecting upon. Actually, it makes me to re- evaluate and place more value on the gift of forgiveness. It makes me to see clearly what happened when the sin problem was solved (dealt with) and what havoc sin actually wrecked in the God and man relationship. Thank God for the forgiveness of sins. But I tell you, that single gift is a million gift by itself. How? Because when we receive forgiveness of sins, we also receive God Himself. We receive His nature, " righteousness". l don't know how to say this exactly. Moses expressed it better. He told Aaron and his sons, " When you make atonement/ for your sins, then you will see God, for God himself will appear..." That is what I intend to say exactly. This very fact reminds us of something in particular, the fact that God didn't isolate Himself from mankind because he is tired of relationship with Him. The fact is that sin was and is still the cause of the separation between God and man. But then, when the sin problem is settled as we have it in Christ today, we entered into God's presence. This is a divine institution and that is what Christ did for us. He took sin away and brought God into our Spirit being. Hallelujah! . Consequently, all our problems are over now.
