Meet Brigid Carrick the author of The Belfast Express. Brigid Carrick is a retired midwife who was born and raised in Dublin. She qualified as a nurse in Ireland before emigrating to Melbourne in the 1970s, where she married and raised a family.  Brigid's book, The Belfast Express, explores themes of violence, the ban on contraception, and the rights of Irish women in the early 1970s.
