Poverty hurts, but in a strange sort of way it just may help. Experiencing poverty as a child taught me how not to raise my children. It made me appreciate the benefits of God and that I will get out of life what I put into it. I learned never to think myself better than others and to keep a humble heart. There are lessons many of us learned from being poor that may have escaped those with more resources.
