The Berklee Latin All Stars are winners of the 2008 Down Beat Student Music Award for Best College Jazz Band under the name La Timbistica. Sounds of Berklee for July 2008 features the six-piece group performing "Centro Havana," a composition by Cuban flutist Oriente Lopez.
