Was John Mozeliak aggressive enough in reinforcing his team for the final two months? Relative to the Cubs and Brewers, no.
Max Scherzer hits 300 strikeouts - just the 6th pitcher since 1990 to do it. Bernie, given your relationship and familiarity with Scherzer and his entire career, I believe you would be able to speak well on this. Not just an incredible feat, but more so just another marker on his highway to Cooperstown. Plus, Bryce Harper says he wants to be in D.C. - I don’t doubt he would like to stay in DC. Probably loves the city. But he knows better than anyone that they’re not going to buck up. And they’re not going to win. And he wants a ring. And a fat check. And he’ll get it elsewhere. Maybe St. Louis? Maybe.
More on The Umpire Show. Really concerning how an ump can swallow his pride enough to take a few words from an MVP candidate in the most important week of the season. No one is paying service fees on StubHub to see you, blue. Plus, a note to Busch Stadium - where is everyone? Announced attendance Monday night was 36,508. And that was tickets sold. Felt like nearly half that were actually in attendance. Last night there were definitely more, but if you’re going to be coined the BFIB, how can these games - the most crucial of what was once a lost season - not be all sold out?
