It is the final day of the Ascot season of racing. The field sizes are relatively small but that doesn’t mean it is any easier to find winners. The Eurythmic Stakes (2200m) is the feature with the class runner Marocchino carrying 60kg. Sentimental Queen, prepared by Hayden Ballantyne, will start favourite following her last start victory in the Diggers Cup over the 1800m journey. Morton’s Fork looks the value runner following his brave effort in the Albany Cup when he carried 60kg. The weight drop of 5kg will be relished. Earlier in the day, all eyes will be on It’sarayday when the highly promising 3yo resumes in the Amelia Park Handicap (1100m). As usual, it is a big nine event card, with the first set down for 12.14pm.
