Luke 6:27-38

BE Good.

DO Good.

Luke 6:27-38 (pg. 1,601)

v.27: “LOVE your enemies, and do GOOD to those who hate you, BLESS those who curse you and, PRAY for those who mistreat you.”

v.29: “If someone SLAPS you on the cheek, turn the other also. If someone takes your COAT, do not withhold your SHIRT.”

v.30: “Give to EVERYONE who asks you.”

Jesus is trying to CHANGE the way that we THINK.

v.31: “Do to OTHERS as you would have them do to YOU.”

v.32: “If you love those who love YOU, what CREDIT is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.”

What you DO maters. Because what you do is a REFLECTION of what’s in your HEART.

PROVIDE for those who need provision. PROTECT those who need protection.

At the center of the Gospel is the fact, that God not only BELIEVED something. He DID something.

v.35: “LOVE your enemies, do GOOD to them and LEND to them without expecting to get ANYTHING back. Then your REWARD will be great and YOU will be CHILDREN of the Most High, because God is KIND to the UNGRATEFUL and the WICKED.”

v.36: “Be MERCIFUL, just as your Father is merciful.”

I could I do any LESS, in light of what God has already DONE, for ME?

“Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.” - Philippians 2:15
