Remembering William Goldman, Olivia Hooker, Irvin Williams
William Goldman was the Hollywood screenwriter responsible for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), All the President’s Men (1976), and The Princess Bride (1987). Some of the quotes in his movies are legendary, and many consider his books on the Hollywood screen trade definitive. Olivia Hooker was the first African-American woman to join the U.S. Coast Guard as well as being one of the last known survivors of the Tulsa Race Riots. Irvin Williams was the head White House gardener from the Kennedy Administration through the George Bush Administration. He was responsible for the current design of the Rose Garden.
