See Matthew 14v22-33   

1.  One small step of FAITH brings me CLOSER to Jesus.  

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.  2Timothy 1v7 (NLT)  So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”  Deuteronomy 31v6 (NLT)   

2.  STAYING CLOSE to Jesus is the SAFEST place to be.  

But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.  Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”  Matthew 14v30-31 (NLT)
