I have to say with all sincerity, the best thing to ever happen to me is that nothing, and I mean nothing came easily. I don't know about you, but this time of year, I spent a fair amount of time contemplating what I'm grateful for. My terrific wife and fantastic kids instantly come to mind, of course, but when it comes to my own personal and professional development, the best thing to ever happen to me was that success was hard.
