Dr. Liebowitz, co-director of the Colloquium for the Advancement of Free-Enterprise Education (CAFÉ) in the Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, joins the show to discuss his recent study on the bias in well-known rankings of state K-12 education systems. In the study, “Fixing the Bias in Current State K-12 Education Rankings,” published by the Cato Institute, Stan and his coauthor, Matthew L Kelly, construct a new measure of the efficiency of K-12 systems that yields very different state rankings.

The issues Stan analyzes range from the economic impact of new technologies, intellectual property and piracy, to the economics of networks, pricing issues, and antitrust.
