    Welcome to the Art of Life - Episode 1: Why We're Doing This

    In this inaugural episode, I lay out the vision behind the Art of Life podcast (a companion project to The Bible Is Art): a conviction that the biggest problems facing the church today aren't primarily theological - they're practical.

    I walk through what that means, where I see it showing up (Sunday sermons that never land on application, men's and women's ministries that are really just Bible studies with no distinct shape), and why I think it's happened - tracing it back to how we've come to treat the gospel as a small interior proposition rather than something that reorders the whole of life. Along the way: Carl Trueman on expressive individualism, what's gone wrong with church music and prayer, the loss of the doctrine of creation, and what Plato's dialogues can teach us about action, drama, and wisdom.

    My hope for this show: after every episode, you walk away with something concrete to do with your hands and your tongue - a way to build culture in your home, your church, and your town.
