This episode works through the first several verses of the Gospel of John. In it, I deal with the biblical text, even the Greek words, and show how they can apply to the lives of Christians. We find that Christians listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ. We find that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. We find that salvation is of the Lord. We find that Christians should find their wisdom from the Scriptures. And more.

Luke 2 and the nativity. I deal with the historical, political, familial, and theological message of Luke 2. The message defends the accuracy of the Bible, clarifies the Christmas story, and gives the truth of the gospel message here at Christmas.

John 10 possesses a unique section in which Jesus celebrated a secular holiday Hanukkah (Feast of Lights or Feast of Dedication, but not one of the 7 commanded by God in Lev. 23). Jesus uses the circumstance to teach that He is the Light of the World. Christians celebrate this advent of the Light into the world during Christmas time, during a larger celebration of Light(s).

Explaining the historical setting of the wise men, King Herod, the Bible's explanation of the nativity (the baby Jesus). The biblical story took place in a real place and time and under particular historical circumstances. The story of the first Christmas is an amazing history lesson. But the main point is that it leads us to the Lord Jesus.

I survey a bit of the structure of 1 Timothy and the other Pastoral Epistles. I spend most of the time studying out the variations on the word "teach" throughout these 3 New Testament letters. The apostle Paul used the terms to emphasize his concerns on things like getting our teaching right, who is qualified to do it (women's roles in the church), Bible doctrine, strange doctrine, false teaching, working hard at preaching and teaching the Bible, etc.
