Today I talked with Mark Canning, a retired career diplomat in the US Department of State. Mark’s 40 years of experience with China allowed us to consider serious issues of foreign policy engagement for the incoming Biden Administration. We focused heavily on trade while also discussing the more serious strategic implications of our strong reliance on China as a partner in capitalism.
