Luke 2:1-20

In order to prepare us for the public launch of Jesus’ ministry from the Nazareth synagogue, Luke first gives us the Savior’s resume—a list of credentials which prove Jesus is qualified to be the Savior who make salvation possible for all people from every nation. In this scene from Luke 2 we come across a very popular story, the birth of Jesus. But this isn’t content so Christmas can have a story. Luke wants us to be certain by showing us yet another credential, namely that Jesus alone is the culmination point of salvation history. Truly, this is good news of great joy!
